GATEWAY - The MU* Community
GATEWAY - The MU* Community (fomerly Online Gaming Resource) has provided a positive place for MU* players, staff and newbies to the MU* community to gather and share information and ideas since 1998. GATEWAY is a recognized leader in resource and social MU*s, and offers a variety of services to its regular and new visitors alike. GATEWAY runs on the MUX code base.
To connect to the MUSH/MUX, a MUSH or telnet client is required. The host address is connect.mu-gateway.net 6677.
Previously known as Online Gaming Resource, the MUX opened in 1998 under the leadership of Coordinator Siobhan. The game has operated continuously for 9 years, although in 2003 OGR switched from using PennMUSH to the MUX codebase.
In October, 2007 it was first announced that OGR would be closing on the Announcements bboard. From there it was further announced that the game would remain open, but would be changing to a new name on the changeover date of December 19, 2007. From there it would be known as "GATEWAY - The MU* Community."
Under the Online Gaming Resource banner, the MUX was won several awards for their efforts.
GATEWAY/OGR has been a resource to the community in many aspects. It provides a home where players can gather if their own games/mud's are experiencing downtime, or outages. As well it is well known for its Embassies where any mud may set up a place to recruit players and staff, and have their own players gather. Mini-mu*'s are available for those who want to test out a concept for a mud, but may not have the space appropriate to test it. There's also the freestyle roleplay areas, and the tabletop gaming areas. GATEWAY/OGR was meant as a resource for both mu*'s themselves, and for their staff.
